After finally sorting out my external drives and NAS, I can now freely browse the photos from my first digital camera (2002 - 2004) without having to plug in any external drives. After finding a phone photo of the index print from Nicky's APS film camera which handily recorded the date of each picture on the back of the print, I was able to distinguish between the 2002 trip (when we went along the Loire valley looking at big white castley things) from the 2003 trip (landing at CDG, leaving from Beauvais and going to Dijon on the way round) and then have a determined poke at Google Earth to determine the locations of the 2003 pictures, some of which were relatively easy (Chartres cathedral) and some which could only be found by narrowing down the area from the location of the surrounding days' views, even though I could remember the name of a particular campsite but just couldn't get Google to admit where it was.
