Roll With It

We Remember

Falmouth’s Remembrance Sunday Parade is moving back towards its pre-Covid numbers. In 2018 we were around 1,000, today we were in the high 100’s.
Pre parade coffee in the council chambers before falling in and heading off to the war memorial.
The service follows a nationally used format and is always moving, this year I placed a wreath at the memorial on behalf of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, just one among dozens from a myriad of services, organisations and clubs.
It’s great to see the youngsters put at the forefront of the event, not just the Cadet Forces but the Cubs, Brownies, Guides and Scouts.
Simultaneously the Falmouth Branch of the RNA either had members attending or representation at a host of other services across Cornwall and at the Cenotaph in London.

Following the formal parade I joined other Veterans and we remembered in our own style, with a pub crawl.
Home early for an hour or twos sleep in the armchair before eventually making it up the wooden hill to bedfordshire.
