Wilkommen in Dresden!
So Dresden is stunning. The architecture is beautiful, several buildings along the Elbe are built to resemble what they once were in an age of awe-inspiring decadence, and using the bricks blackened by the destruction of Dresden during the Second World War the city has a distinct beauty of its own. The churches are wonderful, each and every one of (the many of) them. Fountains, old and new, all over the place, the 'Goldener Reiter' is really damn golden... I could go on for hours.
But it's not just Dresden's exorbitant old-fashioned beauty that stunned me, take a walk across the river from the Altstadt and the Neustadt is just as beautiful in its own way with its new-age, young vibe, the student section so clearly influenced by today's youth culture and its inhabitants.
