Christmas Cake Stage 2...

I felt exceptionally pleased with myself to have the cake made and in the oven by 9.15 this morning. That smugness turned to horror 2 hours later when I realised that for some unknown reason I had set the oven to 4 instead of 1! I'm not sure that the resulting blackened object can be save, even by the reviving powers of brandy. I think I'm going to have to start all over again on Sunday. These are the sort of stupid, careless mistakes that I have made more of in the past two years thanks to my long covid addled brain!
