Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Home alone....

I think I slept for only a couple of hours last night. I don't know what was up but it was not good!
Colin got the train to Leeds today to a concert with my sister and ex step sister in law! - who actually feels like a close family member which is lovely.
Unfortunately my sister isn't feeling great so won't be going but I'm sure the other two will have fun.
Ali and the girls came over after lunch and we did some running around in the car to get driving licenses updated which she and Stuart had never got around to but needs to be done so they can hire a car on holiday. It's meant to be able to be done on line but the system didn't allow it, so now it's fingers crossed that the mail will get them back to them in time.
Josie and Bonnie were as sunny as ever Josie watched a couple of Julia Donaldson stories on TV. She reminds me of a young me, hiding her face at the scary bits.
With Colin away living the high life - room in an hotel, dinner in a restaurant and then the concert, not to mention train travel, I decided to spoil myself for dinner too. Don't laugh, I had cauliflower cheese, pork pie and chip shop chips. Great comfort food.
The chip portion as always was enormous, it cost £3.50 - I managed to eat less than half of them, I wish I could have bought fewer, not for price but to avoid the waste. Fifty plus years ago, on Wednesday evening, my Dad used to buy me a 3d bag from the same shop after Brownies as a treat.
It's cold tonight, I'm glad to curl up under my heated throw and watch unchallenging TV.
Happy weekend folks.
