Hill Top Ramblings

Felling

An elm tree has been growing up in our hedge for about 30 years. We let it grow, as they are rather scarce now after the Dutch Elm Disease.
But really it had got too tall and was blocking the sunshine into the garden. There are several more along our hedge so we decided it would have to go.
And with one swipe of Rob’s chainsaw it was gone! He has left a tall stump so it will sprout again, but meanwhile the magnolia will get some more light.
