Queen of the Night
A neighbour gave us an oxalis plant last year when J returned home from her long spell in hospital, it closes its leaves in prayer every evening. To my surprise it has now produced this delicate flower.
I’ve been to The Lowry two evenings this week. First on Wednesday with two friends to see Opera North’s performance of Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. One had never been to an Opera, both were unfamiliar with Britten, so the overall weirdness and creepy-ness was a bit of a shock at first I think. And then tonight on my own to see Mozart’s Magic Flute - I spent the interval chatting to people I hadn’t seen in years, which was a surprise. Both productions were excellent - the curtain call for tonight’s as an extra.
