Celebrating 78 with the daughters.
I spent the morning working on my Arctic book while Mr C had to go to town. He phoned to get more hearing aid batteries and a tube to replace a broken one. He expected them to be posted but no, he had to turn up in person at 10.30. A 60 mile round trip. What frail people are supposed to do I don’t know. He’d also phoned as one hearing aid has total given up working. The soonest they can see him about that is 16th December. It’s so disappointing and frustrating for him as we’ll be travelling and socialising then.
After delivering a birthday card to Hazel and returning a book to Pat we set off armed with champagne for #3 daughter’s where we had a pre-dinner drink with her and #2 daughter prior to the four of us having the tasting menu at Nest for a late birthday cerebration.
The food was small portions of deliciousness. I had the wine pairings which were very generous. Well it was my treat. We had such fun - all very jolly and them making fun of the old woman (me - how dare they) was hilarious.
Nathaniel took the picture of daughters and me before we went out. I’m not shrinking. Tiny #2 daughter on the left is wearing giant heels and #3’s aren’t much lower.
