Cathedral from University building.
The ruins of west front and tower of St Andrews Cathedral. Construction work started around 1160, it was eventually dedicated in 1318.
Photo taken from entrance to the Deans Court, now a University of St Andrews hall of residence. It’s arguably the oldest dwelling in St Andrews, originates from the 12th century. The round arched foot-gate (ie the arch framing the photo) was added in 1585.
We’d a walk around the town today. Stops included the bookshop and hardware store. Tide was too high for a beach walk.
We’d a quiet late afternoon in. My wife finished a jigsaw puzzle.
