Little Red Apples

The leaves are gone but the apples will be there for the birds for a while. It's my neighbour's tree and he usually picks them and leaves them by his bird table. He's away most of the week at the moment so they're still hanging on there.

I haven't seen so many of our usual garden birds this year but it was lovely to see a mixed gang of tits flitting about in the tree outside our bedroom window while we had our cup of tea this morning. These were mostly bluetits with a few coal tits but you never know what will turn up in these groups.

I've been doing my packing today. I'm off to North Wales on Monday with my pal John. It looks like it might be a bit chilly and perhaps some snow on the tops too ... or it might rain.
