Flowering in November

Went to Dad's today and was blown away that he had a beautiful, very tall shrub flowering in this cold weather.  I've looked it up and discovered it is a mahonia.  

Went to see Mum who was very demonstrative - I got loads of kisses, so did Dad.  It always makes me sad, we all know she is in the best place and is safe, but Mum and Dad should be together and they aren't.  I hate dementia, it is so cruel.

Left early than I normally do, I don't really like driving home when it's really busy in the dark - and it was really busy.
