This evening was a Baptist Prayer Gathering in Glasgow with a day of meeting tomorrow so we decided to make the most of being out.
After a brief visit to church to meet a new group who are using it once a month we drove to Perth and then Auchterarder via the back roads which Mr Rat had cycled on a couple of weeks back.
Some nice views across to the hills and then a visit to Scotland's first free public lending library at Innerpeffray. The library was initially in the loft of the church and then this building was constructed for it, the extra is a collage of the church, the back of this building and an explanation sign. Unfortunately it wasn't open to the public today (though there seems to have been something on there) so we'll have to return when it is.
Lunch in Auchterarder and then a drive through to Uddinston where we were staying for a night.
A short break and then the drive to our venue which wasn't far away but was near Hampden and Scotland were to be playing Croatia so we expected traffic and parking issues. Having sat in slow moving queues for some time we spotted a small parking space and manouevred into it, the Satnav said it was only half a mile from where we were going and a walk wouldn't come amiss.
The walk also gave us the chance to buy a sandwich and we arrived with more than enough time to eat it before the meeting began.
The Prayer Gathering was good and finished in time for us to get back to our hotel just before the football finished.
