Shoe gifts

Today Sinterklaas (Saint Nicolas) arrived in the Netherlands. The six year old grandson of my brother and sister in law is spending the night with us. So according to tradition he was allowed to put his shoe at the front door for Saint Nicolas and his helpers to fill it with a little gift during the night. My grand nephew claimed we had to put up a shoe as well. So that's what we did. By chance we each already had a chocolate letter which my Nijmegen brother brought us yesterday. So that's what we put in our shoes.

Sinterklaas stays in the Netherlands until the sixth of December. The fifth of December is his gift giving day and he returns back home to Spain during that night.
