This is Fiordland one of the wettest regions on earth averaging 192 days of rain and annual rainfall in excess of 6m.
Lucky for us it is picture perfect and teeshirt weather.
We will take a water taxi to the end of the lake tomorrow morning to start the Milford Track ( half day speed dating this trip) approx 10km.
