Sun, sea and palm trees

A day between activities gave us the opportunity to get to know Port Douglas, and what a special place it is. Walking around in lovely and bearable tropical heat we explored the Sunday Market, took a short trek around the top of the peninsular to the top of four mile beach before looping back into town and on to the yacht club for tea. I also took my first swim in the sea at the only 50 metre wide section of 4 mile beach considered safe as there is a boom to keep out the stinging jellyfish.
Tomorrow we are up early for a yacht trip out to the Barrier reef to explore, swim and snorkel
