Flashes and Floaters

I suddenly started getting more floaters in my left eye and flashes at the outside edge. I’ve previously had Posterior Vitreous Detatchment in my right eye, couldn’t get an emergency optician’s appointment then and got a big telling off from my optician for not going to A&E at my routine appointment the next week (despite no optician I rang telling me this). So this time I rang opticians straight away, but they didn’t have an optician in on Saturday. The one in Holt told me to go to A&E , G and M very kindly drove me there. A & E directed me to the Minor Injuries section, not many waiting, but very few staff. After 95 mins I saw a nurse practitioner who took my details and got me to read letters from a chart. She then texted the Opthamologist. 35 mins later I was told she didn’t need to see me unless I had visual disturbances. This differed to what my optician said previously, he said the back of the eye needed to be examined. The nurse practitioner spoke to the doctor and 20 mins later he scanned my eyes through my eyelids and showed me that the retina was still in tact and I could go home. The photo is the printout the nurse practitioner gave me. I ordered a taxi and got home after 9, had a quick sandwich and enjoyed watching Strictly, Chris’s best dance yet. Same symptoms today, but no worse. I’ve got a friend arriving soon for a few days visit, so won’t be commenting and might not be posting.
