Keep warm

Has anyone noticed the weather has changed to cold and wet? Our solution was a slow cooked stew and turning up the heat.
We could not get the fire started at first. After 20 or so years we discovered the wall controls for the fire works off batteries. These had gone flat (unsurprisingly). We replaced them and hay presto!
