Christmas Light Switch-on

I don't know who the group are but they were giving their all to a main street packed with people. The Christmas Lights switch-on is a very family affair with hot-dogs, donuts and chips abounding, push-chairs carving out shin-shearing paths and family dogs pressed tight within a forest of legs. The night air holds up misty gallons of water ready and waiting to coalesce into rain-drops. They later, synchronise their fall with the slightly imperfectly timed light-up so each light is surrounded by a  foggy halo and all the pom-poms on woolly hats twinkle. We buy chips with tartar sauce and everyone enjoys everything because, after all, what more can you expect of Cumberland in November?
