Today, my dad and I visited the Natural History Museum in Berlin. Although I just work along the road from there I hadn't been since we moved to Berlin. There are some great exhibits. I particularly like the wet collection (see extra). The dinosaur skeletons are well impressive, including the Tyrannosaurus rex, called Tristan Otto. There was a critical text about many important finds being bought by private collectors (including the T rex). It's like with the private space race, I think if people can afford these things they are not taxed enough. There was also a very impressive text on climate change and the fact that we are in the middle of the 6th mass extinction caused by rising CO2 levels and other human activities. Unlike the dinosaurs we understand what is happening (if we choose to look) and we can change our behaviour to avoid the Anthropocene being the shortest era in the planet's history. No words were minced.
