Family farming: "an industry we can do without"

This is a family farm. It has been farmed for hundreds of years.
Sadly, this way of life is now under threat from politicians who have neither understanding nor appreciation of the contribution farmers make to national life. According to a Labour adviser, family farming is "an industry we can do without".
Does anybody really think the food supply will be in better hands when all the land like this is owned by big corporations or property developers, or has been carpeted by wind turbines or solar panels?
