Vryssaki exhibition
Fascinating exhibition at the American Archaeological School about Vryssaki, the old very poor neighbourhood in Athens which was completely demolished for the excavation of the Ancient Agora in the 1930s. The archaeologists kept photographic records of every street and building demolished, and this exhibition brings the old neighbourhood back to life.
This is a photographic model of the house which once stood at what is now the entrance to the archaeological site of the Agora.
