Frosty
It seems that over the next couple of days we'll be in between two areas of yellow warnings for frost and ice but that doesn't mean we are basking in sunshine. We woke to frost and it has not left all day and the early sunshine has disappeared behind grey cloud.
I had to collect my meds so on the way back we took a walk round Blackford Pond, feeding the duck and two swans. The swans have had a raw deal this year and one here is a remaining widowed resident whose entire brood has died and the second a new arrival - but, when it comes to feeding, the new one is definitely not welcome at the table. Its beak is pale so I wonder if it is a cygnet from previous years or just too young for a partnership.
I had the choice from several frosty patches but preferred this, with a variety of colour and shape.
