From the Torquay War Memorial

Muriel Tamara Byck was a member of the clandestine Special Operations Executive ( SOE), French Resistance. Sadly she died in France on 23 May 1944, age 25, of meningitis.
There is a blue plaque on her former home erected by the Torbay Civic Society. She is honoured in France.
