Rumps
Winter has definitely arrived, and it was cold in the shadows by the North Esk (see extra) when walking Django, so it was good to climb up towards Penicuik Old House, where the wildflower meadow cow pasture was thawing in the sun (see extra). I eventually found the (pure) Highland cattle at the car park, where they were mostly too busy eating to turn around for a photo.
At home, I completed my work to investigate and resolve a very low-lying bug in HiGHS, and then turned my attention to my "To do" list. I sent off messages to try to stem the tide of junk mail arriving at Mum's flat, and then finally completed the scary W-8BEN-E form that shields my company from US income tax - for which I'd received advice from my accountant last week. It was needed in order to submit a contract form to the US charity handling our 2024-25 funding - and doing this today was a weight off my mind. Now there's one more bit of work admin on the list.
