Sloes and Eglantine

The first frost has come so these sloes are good for picking.  Not enough money to buy a good bottle of gin this month.  If the birds haven't got them by Pay Day they're mine. 

The eglantine hips shine like lanterns in the hedgerows.  The French call them Gratte Culs,  but no one seems to know why.
