The Other Playing Field

Julia took the girls to school this morning before shooting off to RAF Cranwell.
This meant I wasn't get my target steps in today so I left a bit early to pick them up this afternoon. I walked a roundabout way to get to the school, starting off in the playing fields close to our house. In fact, they are not much closer than the King George V playing fields, on the way to school, but they are in the opposite direction.
These, Abbeymead Open Spaces, playing fields are surrounded by small hillocks so I walked up one side to get this photograph. You can see the football pitches marked out, they are used for local football teams of youngsters.
I continued through the park, across the road and then up to a point where I would got to if I'd taken the normal route.
Doing this meant I did achieve my daily target of 7,000 steps, although most days I'm nearer 9,000 or just exceeded that amount.
Julia doesn't start her officer training until February but this visit is part of the selection process.
