Frost on a fern

Our first frost of the year.  Frosts come much later these years soon after we married 47 years ago we were away in early September and when we got back the first frost of the year had nipped the runner beans.  On a similar subject when I started teaching 56  years ago we always had 3 or 4 days a year when we were closed because of snow.  By the time I retired 16 years ago we were having no "snow days" each year.  But its OK the climate isn't changing!

The blip is of one of the deciduous ferns near the bird feeding station.
