Causeway
I didn’t really have time for a run this morning, as stuff got in the way, and late morning we were heading to Northumberland. It was a nice, but frosty morning, and I did manage a very short walk before we headed off.
We were meeting TT’s sister and husband for lunch near Holy Island. Unusually we were there in good time, as we had no hold ups. They had got there before us, and already had a table. We had an amazing view over to Holy Island. Lunch was very nice, and we all enjoyed it, especially TT and his sister, who had the Sunday roast.
After lunch, we went for a very short walk down to the flooded Causeway. When we had arrived, we had noticed the signs informing drivers that the last safe crossing was to be at 12:55.
As we got to the flooded causeway (around 14:30), with the tide still coming in, we noticed a car stranded out on the causeway!!! We chatted to a few other people, who thought someone had climbed up into the shelter. They will have had a long wait until they could continue their journey, if their car started. My sister in law said that lots of people have been stranded recently. Why would you not read and trust the signs?
We walked back to the car, said our farewells, and drove home. TT had more marking to do. I went for a walk, and once back home I baked a lemon drizzle cake.
Later I watched a bit of TV, but didn’t settle on anything.
This is a view across the flooded causeway.
