Escape From Sector 7-G

Here comes the flood

Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga. This statue is usually mobbed, but the city is in a panic as the red weather alert is in force today. Lots of cafes are closed, but we found a nice place for breakfast. The weather seems overcast but calm. We went to the Picasso museum but it was closed due to the weather emergency. With some drizzle now falling and businesses beginning to close, we headed back to the hotel, thinking maybe the red alert was an over reaction.
Unfortunately, the situation got very bad, very quickly. The rainfall became intense and the streets and drains were soon overwhelmed. The street outside our hotel became a fast flowing river, the water level started to rise.
Extras are screen grabs from videos I was taking.

Soon the hotel lobby was beginning to flood. Luckily the intensity of the rain scaled back a bit and the water level dropped as quick as it had risen.
By evening the water had cleared leaving the sludge and detritus of the flood.
We stayed in the hotel and made use of the fine dining restaurant.
Quite an experience.
