Draining the pond

First frost of the season in the city this morning .. it barely shifted in the shaded places during the day. Walked up along George St, which wasn't yet in sunshine, then through Queen Street Gardens; the pond is being drained, despite having a skim of ice on the surface.  

Warm sunshine for several hours and a light West wind. 2C high in the shade.
