Not a Common Sight

I seldom see Flickers this time of year. This suet cage is to keep the big birds out but the Flicker's beak is long enough to reach inside.  Thanks, JensPhotos for hosting MM this month.

I slept in later than usual this morning, I always feel like I have lost valuable time when I do this, but I needed the sleep.

My son brought Ellie over this afternoon because he wanted some time alone, and tonight is their gym night. Ellie was adamant that I should start decorating for Christmas, she wanted to put up the Christmas tree; I talked her out of that idea but let her set up the nativity scene, it was the last thing I put away after last Christmas so it was easy to find. We had a fun time together today.
