NZ Dotterills vs Oyster Catchers

Our third day in the Wellington region took us up to the Waikanae areas and Waimanu Lagoons.  We were keen to see the New Zealand Dotterills as we don't see them in the South Island and we were not disappointed.  Several pairs were nesting on the beach and keen to secure their patch; any invading Oyster Catchers were given a sharp message by these feisty little birds
