A cute baby
This morning we did a tour to Daintree. We started with a river cruise and saw lots. The first thing we saw was a big male croc who was cruising near the jetty. About 3 metres long, he was riding along with the incoming tide (see extra). Next we saw a baby croc, less than 2 years old hiding among the mangrove roots (main). He was less than a foot long and still vulnerable to predators. We also saw a couple of Azure Kingfishers one of which is in the extras.
Following the cruise we walked with our guide through part of the rain forest to the Mossman Gorge for a swim in crystal clear river water beneath waterfalls. Absolutely magical. And we saw further rare finds. The other extras are a Boyd’s Dragon and I think a variety of Golden Orb Spider which was the size of side plate.
Another fabulous day in North Queensland and a fitting end to our Australian adventure. Tomorrow evening we fly home from Cairns via a short transit stopover in Singapore.
