Mists over Swinside

We thought a walk along Catbells terrace would be good this morning. Left the house at 7.30 to try to catch some of the early mist. But decided that the better views were to be had from the main path up Catbells, rather than the terrace. We scrambled up to a decent viewpoint across really icy ground. Shot for about an hour, then debated continuing over the top (which would have meant descending the icy steps at the south end) or retracing our route and picking up the terrace path. We did the latter, but Deb did find it really hard (her boots - new - aren't good on ice without studs or4 spikes).
