Volcano

Very early pick up by taxi (2.30am) to take us to our Mt Batur sunrise expedition. We travelled through deserted roads to a rurss a small shack and walked up dusty and lava strewn paths to reach the top of the volcano and see views such as this one, of Mt Agung. It was much more difficult than I expected. Very steep slippery paths in some parts, and most of the mainly young people doing the trek also struggled at times. At the top we were asked twice by different people how we had made it given our age. I forgave them their cheek. After about 1 hour we then had another difficult journey down, and then the long drive back to our hotel. We were back in time for breakfast which was good. The rest of the day was mainly sleeping
