Leaving Bhutan

Our journey through Bhutan is complete and we are travelling on to southern India. Surprisingly, the flight with Drukair has to make a stopover in Bagdroga, India, to refuel. This is interesting because it is actually a military airport that has now been opened up to civil aviation. The transfer in Delhi is no problem and we arrive in Trivandrum in the evening. It is already dark when we continue by taxi and the contrast between Bhutan and South India on the same day is enormous.
