I like stickers.
Walking back from the Homeless Project with little time left before the Blipfoto midnight alarm goes off, I decided this was the best I can offer.
GoMA lighting up a very cold night.
Strange thing happened on the way there...although not especially strange in my world.
They are filming a big movie around the city at the moment and closing lots of roads. I was diverted off Bath Street (sort of against my will but only put up a bit of a fight because I was tired) and I took my own detour down an alleyway to head in the direction of Glassford Street.
I told them I'd left my bag in the gym and I would be coming back for it later and they said 'Don't worry, no one will stop you coming back' to which I replied 'I'd like to see you try' which, on reflection was perhaps a bit much.
Anyway I digress.
Down the first alley way, two junkies, actually only one because the other had gone completely, engaged me in conversation and I was asked all the usual questions...
Q: What is that for? A: It's my tripod.
Q: What are you filming? A: Nothing I'm making photos.
Q: What for? A: I really don't know. If I ever work it out I'll come and find you.
Real answer: Possibly because it's a form of therapy that stops me giving up completely and drinking Buckie and taking drugs in freezing cold alleyways at 11pm.
Q: Where are you from? A: Yorkshire.
Anyway the conversation continues and he laughs and says 'No way!' over and over again, It turns out a few years ago his Mum who was herself also from Yorkshire took him to Betty's Tea Room in York and he loved the cakes so much. I'd loved to have been a fly on the wall that day!
