Stuff and Nonsense

Black tipped Diadem

I went to the Butterfly House this morning to feed the fish and meet one of the volunteers to do some planning. It was very cold but after an hour of the heating being on and the sun shining the temperature got up to a pleasant 18 degrees Celsius. This was enough for the remaining butterflies to be flying and exercising their wings. There are still a few species around - Owls, Charaxes, Malachites, Mexican Bluewings and at least three of these Black Tipped Diadem. I’m surprised at anything surviving in there after the recent frosty weather, but they’re still clinging on and looking splendid.

Lunch out with Hubby and Mum and then home.
