Early doors
I was away early this morning as I had a meeting just outside of Watford Junction to get to.
To say that it was brisk on Platform 1 at that time would be an understatement. Despite weather warnings being out for our area, not a single snowflake anywhere, but as the countryside whizzed by my window it soon became apparent that everywhere else had received a light dusting!
For the first time since I became a single dad (again) a few years back, I was out of the door before the children and left them to get themselves up and ready for school. It felt HORRIBLE leaving them, but they did it and got themselves to and fro without incident.
I was glad of my parents proximity as they collected the wee ones a little later on in the afternoon, which meant that they weren’t on their own for too long. It also helped that the trains were kind in delivering an easy and uneventful journey.
A family tea courtesy of my mother was a welcome closer to the day before we were home and collapsed in front of the fire.
And then I remembered that I hadn’t taken a single photo all day….
