The Tain
Straightish - looking across to Dunmanus Bay. A frosty start tot he day, followed by some cleaning and then I escaped around the circuit. The redwings have arrived in their hundreds and if you look really closely you can see the Great Northern Diver ( a speck to the left of the rock with the cormorant on) here on his holidays from Iceland and who was busy calling his eerie call.
Just about to tune in to part 2 of my Irish Mythology course - we're starting The Tain tonight, better know in English as the Cattle Raid of Cooley - it's a long and epic and convoluted tale full of sex, lust, envy, battles, love, honour and bulls!
Horslips made a whole album about it - also epic.
Catch you later.
