Y Graig

It was bitterly cold, with hail and snow showers making frequent appearances throughout the day and, if that wasn’t enough, the day ended with a thunderstorm and a fresh barrage of hail for good measure.
Between all that there were spells of sunshine, twhich managed to thaw patches of the ungritted lanes but the bits left in shade remained icy and treacherous.
I put on my boots and winter coat (see extra) and set off for a morning walk to the top of the Y Graig Nature Reserve. The route involved a 100-metre climb up a steep, snowy path, and I was grateful for my walking pole to assist. The effort always pays off as there are stunning views long distance views from the top.
Descending the hillside was trickier still, but I managed to stay upright the whole way.
