Brrr….

Another beautiful cold sunny day. I nipped out to get more butter then made the Christmas cake (trying Nancy Birtwhistle recipe this year that goes in the oven very low for 10 hours) and once that was done and I’d had a chat to Mt about problems ordering a book and A who was WFH today I decided to go for a walk around the park so I could listen to more of the Elif Shafak book and also soak up the beautiful weather and the views.
The swans and other birds were standing on the ice looking chilly, but presumably getting some warmth from the sunshine.
Home and had a bite to eat then popped down to town to get some more bits for A&N’s advent calendar and something for Mt’s stocking. By the time I was walking back the Christmas lights were all on and I saw the terrifying flying seats high up above the Scott monument….really can’t see the attraction!
I walked over to meet LL and LE in the Outsider where we had an early supper together and watched the Castle all lit up for a more sedate Christmas attraction. Lots of chat and gossip and laughs, then I had to dash to drive to choir. Another good evening even though for one of the songs I really have no idea what we’re doing and slip between the parts something rotten. No one seems to mind though!
Home to a lovely smell pervading the flat and what seems like a well cooked cake
