Rising Tide

Rising Tide are climate protesters.  In an attempt to stop them blockading the harbour, the government implemented a four day exclusion zone in the harbour to coincide with a planned blockade they had given months of notice.  Newy is known as a coal port and of course they are targetting the coal tankers movements.

At the last minute, the Government order was overturned and as you can see, they were occupying horseshoe beach which is the leash free dog beach in the harbour.  You can also see a small representative of the police presence.  To my right where I was standing there were at least 7 or 8 more and three cars with more riot garbed officers in occupation.  There were also three police launches patrolling off the beach.

The lady with the red jacket was a television reporter and she had a female camerawoman.  I tell you, it was all happening, even Maggy was impressed!  She got a swim in and all was well.
