The blizzard last night caused a lot of damage, as expected. This was the first tree fallen across a road that I came by, and as it was nearly at the end of a road, with just two summer cottages behind my back, when I snapped this, I came backwards near it and walked to see the next fallen tree, which was on my right. I didn't do anything about it at this point, but I think I'll go back tomorrow to cut both of them.

On the next road there were again two, and they were in a place where they had to be cut straight away. I had to drive home to bring a chain saw, which I kept in the tractor for the rest of the day. No more trees across roads after that, but lots of fallen trees near roads seen.

The need to bring the chain saw wasn't the only problem I had. I started out before 7 am to clear the most used roads of my ploughing round. In less than an hour the turning cylinder of the plough and its pin were broken. I had to lock the plough to a fixed angle for the rest of the day, which is quite inconvenient, but manageable. After finishing ploughing, I still had time to take the cylinder to a repair shop and it should be fixed next week. The pin, or actually bolt, is another matter. I'll have to get the end out of its hole myself, or make a whole new bracket with smarter design than the original.

Triinu went to a meeting last night and she had to turn back from the old main road, as there was a tree blocking it, and drive a detour via the new road. Later there was another tree and a lamp post blocking the road in the same place. A train hit a tree nearby, too, and the railroad power lines were damaged, causing long delays today.
