Sun and Shade

After the snow yesterday afternoon, it was a bitterly cold night and still -2.7C at 8am when my Sainsbury's delivery arrived. I walked in to town for a 9:30 hair appointment, and gave myself lots of time to get there as it was so icy. I got a few things in town whilst there. I popped into G & M's for a nice cuppa and chat on my way home. The ice didn't clear where anything was in shade, but it also looked lovely in the sun in the other direction. The two photos in my collage were taken at the same time, one in the shade in my back garden and the other in the sun from my front garden. Two of the landscape maintenance guys from Gresham's arrived unannounced this afternoon. I'd emailed their boss last week with concerns about one of the trees, and also reminded him that the work they promised to do 14 months ago, hadn't been done. They promise to do it next week - I still wasn't sure if they'll be getting the tree inspected (several branches had leaves that died a few months ago and haven't since dropped). I was due to walk with H this afternoon, but we decided to postpone it given the icy weather. Instead I decided to wrap up my remaining C presents - I've never done it all in November before! Who knows, it might be writing C cards tomorrow!!!
