A frosty morning

The play Waiting for Godot was definitely worth seeing last night due to the excellent cast, but for anyone who knows Samuel Beckett's play will know that it is a play about waiting and not much happens, so it can be challenging for the audience to appreciate the subtle cleverness of the play and to experience the frustration of waiting for Godot to turn up, exactly as the characters are experiencing, and not lose patience. It's not for your average tourist who wants some light theatre whilst in London, I think the audience there all had an appreciation of the play beforehand, and the one or two who didn't walked out. The old Victorian theatres in London can be very challenging, while charming buildings the seating is extremely uncomfortable with no leg room, and climbing up the narrow and steep staircase to go to the loo I did think that anyone elderly would not manage to get there.

This morning was cold and frosty and more grey than yesterday but eventually after lunch the sun did make an appearance. I went to get groceries for the weekend and bought some final Christmas bits like more wrapping paper - I have wrapped all my presents but Gavin may have one or two that he will need to wrap. I have had to be super organised about Christmas this year, I am sure there is something I have forgotten - 'what turkey, were we meant to have turkey today?'- but hopefully all is under control!

Tonight is our camera club committee meeting, thankfully on zoom as I don't feel like going out in the cold, so I have also spent time today collating reports and getting ready for the meeting. Now I must quickly make supper so I am ready for the meeting at 7.30pm.
