Pink lilies
I walked to South Woodford this morning for an appointment with my audiologist to try and find out why my left hearing aid is still hurting my ear. When she looked in my ear with her otoscope, which relayed the pictures to her computer, we could see some red marks in my ear again, as before, which proved that the aid is still chafing, even after being adjusted. She will send the photos to the manufacturer along with the mould, and it will be a process of making tiny alterations until it is right; if too much is shaved off it will become loose and may fall out. I had another impression taken of my ear in case that helped the manufacturer to get the fit as good as my right hearing aid, which is very comfortable. So once again I am left with just one hearing aid for another couple of weeks but fortunately I’m not too deaf in my left ear so I can hear pretty well with just an aid in my right ear.
On my return I spent the afternoon finalising the design for our Vicar’s Christmas card, and at last I was very happy with the result (as is Smithers). There’s always a moment when it all comes together and it just works, and today that’s what happened. I’m feeling very pleased and somewhat relieved.
These lovely lilies were a gift this evening from The Traveller’s girlfriend, T, who also very kindly brought with her a gingerbread man each for L and H, who were here after school with their Daddy. She really is very thoughtful, and a delight to have as a house guest.
