Barr Loch

A great morning in Lochwinnoch, exploring the nature reserve, RSPB and the two lochs, Castle Semple and Barr lochs. Colder even than yesterday, the ice near the shore creaking and cracking. A hasty picnic lunch and an early afternoon train home.

Interesting zoom session this evening with the Scottish Wildlife Trust on red squirrels, mostly positive developments especially in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City where the grey squirrel population has almost all been “despatched”.
