today's another day

Malcolm

Popped out to see a friend's new pad and then have a catch up over lunch.

New place is an apartment, all mod cons, double height roof, nice and clean and new. He and Pam are quite taken with the place, bit of a change from their last home, a little stone cottage.

Change in living style means stuff has had to go, but he's kept these. His collection of Wisden, starting in 1949, the year he was born.

They were useful for many a year for one of his jobs, where he had to come up with stats every now and again. May have been on the radio a fair bit, through the summer, with some of the people in the books...

A pub lunch followed, and exchange of stories and a catch up, it had been too long. We first met over Twitter, me a Rochdale lad him a Bury fan. After tweets back and forth Dale played at Bury one Tuesday and he suggested a pint and a bite to eat first.

In the old days of Twitter, you could get to know someone, anyone, meet and find they exactly as you'd expect. So, from that Tuesday onwards we have been pals.

That's gone.
