Busy day at Lanarkshire curling rink

50 or so lady curlers from Canada have been on a tour of 15 ice rinks since 1st November.  Today they came to Lanarkshire ice rink as their last stop of the tour.  There are 6 curling  sheets of ice in Lanarkshire ice rink which means we needed to find 6 teams of our own lady curlers to play against the Canadians - which we managed to do as many were up for the challenge.  unfortunately we were outplayed this morning with only one of our teams managing to beat our opponents.

 Although it's always good to win a match, At the end of the day it wasn't a problem as taking part in an international competition was a big thrill for many of our club members.  After the match we all gathered in the ice rink restaurant for lunch and some good conversation with our opponents.  Today was the final day of their tour and they'll travel home tomorrow with happy memories , many of them having visited Scotland for the first time 

Besides playing the games, visitors also have to perform a song or whatever to show their appreciation for the hospitality as they are doing here.
